JTM jobsFounded in 1960 by Jack Maas, Sr., JTM originated as Maas Brothers Meats and in 1974 was renamed Jack Maas Meats. To be reflective of the continued growth of the business, in 1980 the company became known by it’s present name—JTM Food Group.

Family Tradition

Since the company’s inception, it has truly been a family business with participating members including JoAnn and Jack Sr. (Mom and Dad) and their seven children, Jack Jr., Mike, Mary Lou, Joe, Tony, Kathy and Jerry, in addition to the recent involvement of 15 grandchildren. And keeping it in the family, the initials “J, T, and/or M” are part of each family member’s monogram!  Jack Maas Sr.’s founding principles of dedication, faith, hard work and family continue to embody the JTM spirit and commitment to excellence.

Four Generations Later

Today JTM Food Group is an international, multi-segmented, forward-thinking, food-processing company still rooted in the same principles of the original butcher shop—quality and value. For four generations, the campus of food professionals at JTM has provided great-tasting, quality foods and the highest level of customer service both domestically and abroad to customers who demand the best.

In January 2017, JTM broke ground on a new manufacturing plant at its Harrison headquarters. The new facility will increase capacity as JTM continues to expand its reach, which now includes thousands of schools, restaurants, military and government organizations, food distributors and retailers throughout North America. The new facility will be supported by state-of-the art distribution center. Construction on the distribution center began in August of 2016.

With a smoother, more efficient production line, JTM’s new facility is expected to produce nearly 2 million pounds of additional “kettle” products (burrito fillings, mac and cheese, sauces, dips, soups, chili, etc.) each week. Once the new plant is completed, JTM will have the initial capacity to produce an addtional 100 million pounds of “kettle” cooked product annually, with additional capacity readily available. The new facility will feature state-of-the-art technology that will both increase production speed and improve safety, reinforcing JTM’s strong commitment to employee and food safety.
